Even if we are sure, you won’t have any leftovers from our Krapfen, we want to be “on the safe side” and give you a recipe, what to do with older donuts.
Recipe for 4 persons:
4 tablespoons dried cranberries or raisins
500 ml milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons of suger
3 teaspoons organic lemon zest
4 teaspoons almond sticks
Cut the Krapfen into thin slices and arrange them in a shallow casserole dish.
Scatter the cranberries or raisins on top.
Whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, sugar and lemon zest and pour this egg milk evenly over the Krapfen. Sprinkle the casserole with the almonds.
Bake the Krapfen casserole in the preheated oven (180 degrees normal oven or 160 degrees for a fan oven) for approx.. 30 minutes on the bottom shelf.
Dust with powdered sugar.
